We are committed to delivering aspects of our curriculum outdoors in order to further inspire and excite our young people when learning. Quality learning outdoors can enhance the learning that takes place in the classroom by putting the objectives in to context and providing personal and memorable experiences which can embed learning and increase understanding.
Outdoor sessions are taught in a fun and engaging manner throughout the year by school staff and encompass a range of teaching styles. They provide further opportunities for kinaesthetic, auditory and visual learning as there are less constraints of space, noise levels and amount of mess made!
In addition, outdoor education can lend itself to provide opportunities to develop transferable life skills such as cooperation, problem solving, risk management and effective communication.
