LANCOT SCHOOL UNIFORM
The Lancot Challenger Academy uniform aims to:
- Be practical and comfortable for everyday school wear
- Be season appropriate
- Foster a pride in belonging to the community
The school colours are yellow, grey and navy blue. Every day uniform can be worn from the following range.
- Yellow polo shirt (with or without logo from our school uniform stockist)
- Grey trousers, skirts, pinafores or shorts
- Navy blue sweatshirt or cardigan (with or without logo from our uniform stockist)
- White school shirt and tie for Year 5 & 6. The tie will be provided by the school. (Autumn and spring term only)
- White polo shirt for Year 5 & 6 (with or without logo from our school uniform stockist). Summer term only.
Yellow/white school summer dresses for 3+ to Year 3
Blue/white school summer dresses for Year 4 to Year 6
(Shorts worn under skirts are for modesty purposes and must not be visible when the child is standing.)
Items required for religious observance (e.g. head or leg coverings) should be in the school colours and reflect the general uniform.
Socks or tights should be white, grey or navy only.
Discreet hair accessories should be in blue or yellow.
We encourage children to wear black school shoes. Navy or black school sandals may be worn in the summer at the parent’s discretion. They should be worn over socks and fit firmly to the foot. Flip flops and heeled shoes or any boots are not considered to be appropriate footwear. If boots are worn for the walk to school due to poor weather conditions, children must bring school shoes to change into on arrival.
Additional items such as book bags, hats and for older children (Year 4 upwards) rucksacks are available from our stockist. Book bags for children in Reception to Year 3 must be the flat style in order to fit into drawers.
It is expected that all children use the official Lancot book bags and rucksacks.
Please note: Children are not permitted to wear any form of jewellery, including earrings.
For children in Year 1 to Year 6, navy or black shorts and white non-buttoning T-shirts are required for Physical Education. The children may wear plain navy or black jogging trousers or leggings along with a plain navy or black jumper or sweatshirt for outside PE – only in the winter. Plimsolls or trainers are required for outdoor PE sessions.
Children in the 3+ (Nursery) and 4+ (Reception Year) classes will not require a P.E. kit as activities to support physical development are a key element to daily provision.
Children from Reception Year to Year 6 will need a single piece swimming costume, towel, swimming hat, flip-flop type shoes and a waterproof bag in which to keep them if they are scheduled to use the pool (final half term only).
The children felt that their day to day uniform did not help them to feel smart and confident in certain situations. Therefore, there will be occasions when children are asked to wear a white school shirt and a school tie (ties are supplied by school). School will inform parents in advance of these occasions.
Uniform and items with and without the school logo may be ordered through our stockist – ‘Best Look’, High Street North, Dunstable, Beds, 01582 603603.
